The course Medical Parasitology for the 1st year students of V. Zelman Institute of Medicine and Psychology is organized by the Department of General Biology and Ecology of the College of Natural Sciences.

The course is associated with basic problems of biology, ecology and evolutionary aspects of parasitic protists and animals (except nsects and arachnids) which are important for human health. Besides, blood-sucking, venomous and poison animals are characterized. Life-cycles of human parasites and vectors of parasites are also discussed.

The course includes lectures (16 academic hours), seminars and laboratory practices (16 academic hours) and home works. Number of credits – 1. Students should pass several intermediate tests and a final exam in the test form.

The Programme is developed according the Federal Standard for Profile "Physician".
